Shaw way to go for the U10s

HFH U10 52 Woolston U10 18 AN outstandin­g performanc­e from all of the HFH U10s’ team to end the first half of the season on a high.

Every player contribute­d to an excellent win over Woolston which led to Joshua Percival, Joe Blackwood, Zak Mannion, Edward Price and Jack Shaw all going over the try line.

Successful conversion­s from Blackwood, Mannion, Shaw, Price, Albie Dale, Ben Mannering, Joel Kilgannon and Evan Whittall increased the scoring giving the Hornets a more than comfortabl­e win.

Jack Shaw picked up the man-of-the-match accolade while Joshua Percival was a welldeserv­ed top defender.

Harry Whorton was the recipient of the coaches’ award for all his efforts. Edward Price continued his strong performanc­e picking up the top attacker honour.

HFH U11 Greens 32 Golbourne Parkside 20 A VERY closely-fought game saw HFH U11s Greens win 32-30 against a good Golborne Parkside team.

Six tries were scored with a fantastic hat-trick for Sam Fitzsimon and one each for Jake Berry, Joseph Owens and Luke Lamey.

There was a great defensive effort by the team with Luke Lamey just edging the top tackler award. Man-ofthe-match went to Joseph Owens for a great all-round performanc­e.

HFH U11 Reds 36 Thatto Heath U11 16 HARRY ROBERTSON put in a four-try performanc­e as Hornets won a tough game against Thatto Heath.

Jake Davies and Ethan Delaney added the other tries in a good overall team performanc­e. Rochdale Mayfield 0

HFH U12 30 HORNETS played the first round of the Lancashire Cup at Rochdale and secured an easy victory.

Tries were scored by Zac Marsden (3), Conner Keen, Conall Slavin and Joey Nulty with Peter Scott converting three.

Man-of-the-match was Conner Keen, the coaches’ award went to Jack Craig and top tackler was Ryan Moran.
