More closures for Gateway work

ROUTES in Runcorn will reopen as work continues on roads for the Mersey Gateway Project.

Astmoor Road in both directions between Davy Road and Chadwick Road became open to traffic once more on Monday, August 7.

Northbound traffic only will be able to use the Lodge Lane Junction from Saturday, August 12.

Further route closures have also been announced affected main roads in both Runcorn and Widnes.

The exit road from the A533 ● Central Expressway to Spur Road shut on Monday, August 7, for approximat­ely two weeks and a diversion will be in place.

In Widnes, a weekend closure is planned on the southbound A562 Speke Road.

It will be in operation from 7.30pm on Friday, August 11, to 5am on Monday, August 14, with a diversion in place.

The A557 Weston Point Expressway in Runcorn will also experience a closure this weekend.

The northbound route between the M56 junction 12 roundabout and the Weston Link will be shut.

The closure will be in place from midnight on Friday, August 11, to midnight on Sunday, August 13.

Motorists are being advised to either follow a diversion or use junction 11 of the M56 and the Daresbury Expressway.

The slip from the Weston Link heading to the northbound A533 Central Expressway in Runcorn will be completely closed from Saturday, August 12, to Sunday, August 27.

Traffic will be diverted over the new Lodge Lane Junction.
