Open evening breaks records for school
AN open evening at Ormiston Bolingbroke Academy in Runcorn attracted a record number of primary school pupils and parents, the secondary has said.
The youngsters could be returning as enrolled students in September 2018 and had a taste of what life might be like in Year 7 and beyond.
Emlyn Wright, principal, spoke to a packed hall and the audience of prospective parents twice during the evening and spoke with pride about the school’s academy’s results, standards and his future vision.
A school spokeswoman said the excitement showed on pupils’ and parents’ faces as they toured the school to view facilities and equipment.
Staff were also on hand encouraging everyone to take part in an array of fun and educationally challenging activities. ●
Many of the pupils also signed up for the ‘Saturday Academy’, which began for this academic year on Saturday, September 30.
Saturday Academy offers those interested in a place at OBA the chance to take part in the ‘Around The World’ programme each week, which the spokeswoman said it is a fabulous experience for all those that attend and helps them to make friends from other primary schools in the area.
