... Then visits academy
● STAFF and students at a Runcorn high school have welcomed the area’s Labour MP for a tour.
Mike Amesbury, MP for Weaver Vale, met pupils and popped into lessons and found out about the facilities and activities offered outside class so the students can develop into well-rounded adults.
Year 10 student Ewan Jago, Halton’s Member Of Youth Parliament representing the borough’s 12,000 young people, also spent time with the MP to discuss the issues in his manifesto.
Emlyn Wright, Ormiston Bolingbroke Academy principal, said he was proud to talk about all the amazing things he had discovered about the school so far, and was happy to discuss some of his proposals and plans with the goal of making sure the academy goes from strength to strength.
Mr Wright said: “It was a real pleasure to show Mike Amesbury MP around our wonderful school as we have so much to be proud of.”
