School’s fence to be replaced

-

THE gates and fence around a Widnes school is due to be replaced after proposals were handed to Halton Borough Council.

Plans envisage work at St Bede’s Catholic Junior School.

A design and access statement by planning agents Cunliffes said an existing fence around the school on Birchfield Road and Appleton Village are black painted metal railings.

It said: “The existing fence is in poor condition and corroding in places.

“The height of the fence is as low as 1,400mm in places and offers little in the way of security.”

The proposed new fencing would be welded mesh panels with a black PVC coat finish and a planned height of 2.4m.
