ALTHOUGH just under 4 years old, Bogans Carpets and Flooring Two Mills is joining in the company’s 69 years in business celebrations.
In 1948, Alice and Lawrence Bogan started a small, one-room business stitching together excess pieces of carpet from upmarket department stores and creating patchwork carpets, which turned out to be a huge success.
People who previously could not afford fitted carpets were able to order a patchwork carpet made to order, and even specify mainly red, green, blue or brown patches.
Three generations on, the patchwork carpets are just a memory - although Wirral resident managing director Peter Burrows keeps one for old time’s sake!
These days the family uses its name and experience to access the best quality carpets and flooring at the best deals, while passing the savings on to their customers.
Of course, it’s one thing buying quality at the right price, but installing it is equally important to Bogans.
With 22 teams of carpet fitters and floor layers, all work carried out by Bogans is of the highest standard, every time. Such is the regard for the quality of their work by the company’s regular customers, it is not uncommon for Bogans’ fitters to travel as far as the Midlands, London or, in one case, Southampton. It just shows how important it is both for Bogans and its customers to do a quality job.
The majority of their work is carried out within the North West and North Wales, and their regular fitters, many of whom have been with Bogans for more than 20 years, carry out a professional and tidy job, every time.
Bogans secured its new premises at Two Mills, the site of the former Honda dealership on the Chester High Road near Chester.
