Panto stars bring fun and laughter to Halton
BENIDORM actress Crissy Rock was among the glittering cast of this year’s Halton panto to hit the streets in costume across Runcorn to meet shoppers and families and pose for selfies.
Crissy, who has appeared in ITV’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, will be back at The Brindley this winter with a bundle of chuckles for punters having already performed on stage at the venue in musical play Seriously Dead.
The Sleeping Beauty panto actors headed to Runcorn Hill and then to Runcorn Shopping City.
Former Miss British Isles Rebecca Lake, actor and model and reality TV personality Christopher Pym, Halton theatre all-rounder Andrew Curphey and veteran dame Robert Squire are also due to star in The Brindley production later this year.
Actress-singer Charlie Griffiths has also joined the cast who panto fans might recognise from her turn as Fairy Flustered in last year’s show.
Theatre stalwart Nick Wymer who has appeared in CITV as well as Father Ted, Paul Merton The Series and The Bill.
Nick, who will play the King, has also appeared in adverts for Weetabix and a Bollywood blockbuster as well as numerous TV shows and theatre productions, even in as farflung and exotic places as Beirut in Lebanon.
Crissy said: “I am looking forward to working with a great cast in the great venue and so close to home.
“There is always something so special about panto and I am already excited.
“The reception from the public at the shopping centre and the park was lovely and warm.
“I hope as many people as possible book tickets to see the show.”
Sleeping Beauty, presented by Polka Dot Pantomimes runs from December 11 to January 14. ● ●
