Vikings are on course to help learners

-

PEOPLE in Halton have the opportunity to enhance their employability skills and build a more exciting future with Widnes Vikings.

The club is currently welcoming applications to the Vikings Learning Centre.

Delivered in partnership with Riverside College, the programme supports people who are out of work, education or training to develop a job-ready future.

The education provider was highly commended at the 2017 Festival Of Learning and has a 100% pass rate across all courses.

The Vikings Learning Centre supports people who have experienced challenges in finding or sustaining work and education.

With small class sizes and specialist tutoring focussed on learners’ individual needs, it offers a uniquely supportive approach.

The centre is currently offering a number of free courses including an NCFE Level 1 Certificate In Sport and Employability course, specially designed for people aged 16 to 18, as well as a NCFE Level 1 or 2 Certificate in Employability Skills course for young adults aged 19 and over.

For people who are not able to commit to full-time education, it also offers a number of short courses.

By studying in the Halton Stadium, students enjoy a unique environment to build their skills and enjoy new experiences – from developing sports and coaching skills on the i-Pitch, through to work experience with the Club.

These courses do not require any knowledge of or interest in rugby league.
