RE­MEM­BRANCE ser­vices have been an­nounced for across Hal­ton.

Mem­bers of the Hal­ton and Widnes Dis­tricts of the Royal Bri­tish Le­gion (RBL) are invit­ing res­i­dents and or­gan­i­sa­tions to take part in the an­nual Civic Ser­vices Of Re­mem­brance in Run­corn and Widnes on Sun­day, Novem­ber 12.

The Widnes ser­vice will be held at the War Memo­rial in Vic­to­ria Park.

The Civic Pro­ces­sion will as­sem­ble at 10.05am in Lock­ett Road – on the Peel House Lane side of the park gates – and will move off at 10.35am to ar­rive at the War Memo­rial at 10.45am.

The pro­ces­sion will dis­perse at the end of the ser­vice.

The Run­corn ser­vice will be held at the Ceno­taph on Green­way Road. The Civic Pro­ces­sion will as­sem­ble at St Michael’s Church on Green­way Road at 2.30pm and will move off at 2.45pm to ar­rive at the Ceno­taph at 3pm.

Two min­utes’ si­lence will also take place on Satur­day, Novem­ber 11, at 11am and the RBL has made an ap­peal to the gen­eral pub­lic and or­gan­i­sa­tions to ob­serve it. Hal­ton Bor­ough Coun­cil en­dorses the ap­peal on be­half of mem­bers and staff.

On Mon­day Novem­ber 6, at 2pm part of the two lawns on ei­ther side of the Run­corn War Memo­rial will be reded­i­cated as Gar­dens Of Re­mem­brance. A short ser­vice of ded­i­ca­tion will be held and any­one wish­ing to place Bri­tish Le­gion re­mem­brance crosses can do so. ●
