McGill bowls them over in final game

Adam Mellor (14 darts) added a further point to the Cricket Club’s winning tally.

The Wellington, at home to the Millfield, took the first game through Ste Whitfield with 16 & 18-dart legs.

Chris Taylor then levelled for the Millfield.

Anthony Hall took the Wellington ahead with a 14-dart leg, only to see the Millfield’s opening pair Billy Fox & Mike Howard level the score.

The Wellington rallied, taking two in a row through John Barber & Jimmy Holden and Karl Whitfield & Ste Whitfield with 19 & 16 darts.

The Millfield took the next two games through Billy Fox and Brian Dutton (18 darts) to level the score at 4-4.

The Millfield’s Mike Howard then took the final game and the match including a 17-dart leg.

Widnes Bowling Club at home to the Mill Brow SC took the first game through Scott Byrne.

Alan Friar then levelled for the Brow, then a win from Jack Dunn took them ahead.

Parity was soon restored as Joe Batty & Scott Grady took the next game for the Bowler.

The Brow rallied with two in a row from Neil Platt & Dave Powell and Paul Linger & Paul Woodward. The Bowler were not giving up as they levelled with two of their own through Alan Clark and Scott Grady to level the score.

With all resting on the final game, Alex McGill stepped up to take the game and the match for Widnes Bowling Club.
