Two ar­rests in park

A MAN and a boy have been charged with pos­sess­ing knives as po­lice swooped in Run­corn.

A Cheshire Con­stab­u­lary spokesman said of­fi­cers searched three sus­pects in Rock Park on Union Street at 4.46pm on Satur­day, Novem­ber 4. As a re­sult, a 15-yearold boy was charged with pos­sess­ing an of­fen­sive weapon and a Class-B drug, cannabis.

He is due to ap­pear at youth court in War­ring­ton on Novem­ber 22.

A 31-year-old man was also charged with pos­sess­ing an of­fen­sive weapon.

Philip An­drew Whit­ing, of Saxon Way, Run­corn, is due to ap­pear at North Cheshire Mag­is­trates’ Court on Novem­ber 23.

A third per­son, a 17-year-old male, was ar­rested but later re­leased without charge.

Fol­low­ing the ar­rests po­lice tweeted im­ages of the al­legedly seized weapons, cannabis and a phone.
