Two arrests in park
A MAN and a boy have been charged with possessing knives as police swooped in Runcorn.
A Cheshire Constabulary spokesman said officers searched three suspects in Rock Park on Union Street at 4.46pm on Saturday, November 4. As a result, a 15-yearold boy was charged with possessing an offensive weapon and a Class-B drug, cannabis.
He is due to appear at youth court in Warrington on November 22.
A 31-year-old man was also charged with possessing an offensive weapon.
Philip Andrew Whiting, of Saxon Way, Runcorn, is due to appear at North Cheshire Magistrates’ Court on November 23.
A third person, a 17-year-old male, was arrested but later released without charge.
Following the arrests police tweeted images of the allegedly seized weapons, cannabis and a phone.
