Watchdog hosts event for residents and doctors
AFEDERATION of neighbourhood doctors has been set up in Halton. It is hoped the general practitioners will be able to boost efficiency and quality by working together and sharing knowledge and resources.
Healthwatch Halton medical standards watchdog is hosting an event for the GP federation at 7pm on Thursday, November 30, at Heath Business And Technical Park in Runcorn.
Residents will be able to use the session to raises any issues they have with GP services in the borough.
The event will run for two hours and also includes an overview of the federation and its aims and a chance to hear from doctors themselves on what they think is wrong with general practice in Halton and what they think the future holds. ●
There will also be a chance to work with the GPs and practice managers to discuss and share ideas, thoughts and suggestions about what improvements can be made and how.
A Healthwatch Halton spokesman said: “We don’t see this event as a oneoff. If you’re interested, we’re keen to set up some local focus groups that will carry on meeting after the event to discuss and progress specific themes and issues.
“So if you’re keen to have a say and help to influence what happens with general practice in Halton over the next few years, please do book a place at this event and get involved.”
