NORTHERN Ireland’s multi award winning singer songwriter Kaz Hawkins is no longer its best kept secret and is heading to Runcorn for a concert at The Brindley tomorrow night.
A show spokesman said that with her ‘knock your socks off’ vocals, character, unmistakable look and stage presence, she brings so much more to the stage than just lyrical talent.
Kaz’s rise to success will be no surprise to fans around the world whom she has been wooing for years with her voice, original song writing and soulful tracks, the latest featured in the band’s Feelin’ Good album which was named the International Blues Broadcasters Association album of the year 2016.
The spokesman said this is no mean feat for the woman who owes surviving a life of physical and emotional hardship to music and a larger-than-life personality that does not take setbacks lying down.
He said: “Described as high energy and emotional soul, Kaz takes you through her life’s journey in song and it’s an emotional one.
“With the Kaz Hawkins band on fire after winning the UK Blues Challenge, they earned the right to represent the United Kingdom in Memphis, being the first British band ever to compete in the International Blues Challenge in Tennessee in January 2017, where they won a well-deserved place in the semi-finals.
“April 2017 saw another huge success for Kaz and the band in Denmark winning the European Blues Challenge – the first time in the event’s history that a UK band has won.”
Tickets are £14, £12 from www. thebrindley.org.uk and the box office on 015 1907 8360. ●
