Have you got a question for Metro Mayor?

-

A FEW spaces remain to attend a Question Time event in Widnes as metro mayor Steve Rotheram tours the Liverpool City Region to hear about the issues which matter to residents.

The Halton Stadium on Lowerhouse Lane – the home of Widnes Vikings – will host Mr Rotheram from 7pm on Tuesday, January 16.

Doors will open from 6.30pm and attendees are advised to arrive no later than 6.50pm and limited free tickets can be obtained on a firstcome-first-served basis.

A spokeswoman for the metro mayor said there has been ‘lots of interest’ in the event and there are still ‘a few’ spaces available.

Mr Rotheram said: “As metro mayor, I want to be as accessible and accountable as possible and these Question Time events are a really important way of doing that.

“I am looking forward to finding out more about the issues that matter most to people in Halton.

“I am just seven months into a project that can transform our region but I understand that some people are still unclear about the role of the metro mayor and the Combined Authority.

“These events are also useful opportunities to explain how the Liverpool City Region is working for Halton; the £16m investment in the Halton Curve or £5m for the Alstom NW Engineering Centre, being just two examples.”

The event is part of a tour Mr Rotheram is making around the six areas of the Liverpool City Region.

The event description said: “Before Steve was elected in May 2017, he held a series of public meetings and the information gathered helped inform the pledges made in his manifesto.

“As he begins to implement his manifesto, Steve is continuing these meetings to keep you informed on the progress being made.”
