Make it tea for two on Valentine’s Day

LOVE could be in the air at an upcoming Valentine’s Day-themed event at Grangeway Community Centre in Runcorn.

Organisers Sure Start To Later Life holds regular ‘Grangeway Get Together’ tea social gatherings for older residents on the second Monday of every month between February and Novem- ber. Although usually on from 1-4pm, the February 12 event is 2-4pm.

For £5, there is live entertainm­ent and food and drinks served to the table.

A Halton Borough Council spokesman said there are 100 places and staff make every effort to make each event special, with seasonal table decoration­s and themes around the year.

Cllr Marie Wright (health and wellbeing, Halton Borough Council) said: “Everyone is made to feel very welcome.

“It’s a great way to make new friends, with lots of fun and laughter, singing and, if people want to, they can have a dance.”
