ON Friday evening in the Widnes & District Darts League, the Mill Brow SC RTB League continued.

In Division One, Halton Stadium at home to Widnes Bowling Club had a fantastic start as they secured the first five games through Alan Magee, Eddie Dootson and Tony Jackson, followed by pairs, Joe Price & Kenny Murphy (14 darts) and John Bowles & Alan Magee (14 darts) to confirm their match victory.

The Bowler’s Alan Clark & Mark Smith took the next game, only to see the Stadium’s John Bowles (13 and 14 darts claim the next game.

Tommy Robertson then won the penultimate contest for the Bowler, whilst John Kilkenny (16 and 11 darts) added the final game wrapping up a 7-2 triumph for Halton Stadium.

The Mill Brow at home to the Wellington fell behind as Ste Whitfield took the opening game in two straight legs.

However, a 16-dart display from Carl Hackney in the second contest soon levelled the score.

The Wellington took the lead once more as Anthony Hall via a 12-dart display, claimed a victory but Chris Bright & Kevin Helps had the match all-square again with a two legs to one game.

The Brow hit the front for the first time through Dave Powell & Ray Linger with a win in two straight legs, but at the end of the pairs it was tied once more as Kath Conway & Anthony Hall won in two legs.

John Barber edged out his opponent in a deciding third leg, but a 14-darter gave Dave Powell the edge in the penultimate game to leave the match on a knife edge.

In the final game it went a leg each for both sides with both players having a chance to take the spoils before it went the way of the Wellington as Karl Whitfield threw the winning dart.

The Millfield at home to Simms Cross Institute conceded the first game to the Stute’s Ged McPartland (17 darts).

Chris Taylor (13 darts) then levelled for the Millfield. This was followed by a further win from Billy Fox.

The Stute came back to level through their opening pair Glyn Owen & Ged McPartland, before going ahead via John Leacy & Andy Abbott.

Parity was restored, however, through the Millfield’s Mike Howard & Ian Wall (13 darts).

A further win apiece from the Stute’s Glyn Owen (19 darts) and the Millfield’s Ian Wall (15 darts) made it 4-4. Andy Abbott then took the final game and the match for Simms Cross Institute.
