Sefton and Cowan are the heroes

-

ON Friday night in the Widnes & District Darts League, the Mill Brow SC RTB League continued.

In Division Two, Corpy Club at home to Mersey Hotel went two games down as Ste Woodward and Paul Cotty with a 13 dart display gave the visitors the early advantage.

Mike Ruane pulled a game back for the Corpy but in the pairs, two further wins for the Mersey Hotel via Ste Woodward & Ray Cowley and Paul Cotty & Rob Cotty had the Corpy in big trouble.

Needing the last four games Dave Conway & Dave Pickles, kept the home side’s hopes alive and with a 18-dart game from Mark O’Connor the belief became stronger.

Jeff Thompson up next for the Corpy Club levelled the score at 4-4.

And moments later the Corpy had pulled off the great escape through a match-winning 16-dart game from Dave Cowan.

Hough Green playing host to Main Top took the first game through Andy McIntosh.

The Top then levelled via Anthony Woodward, before going ahead through Roy Caldwell. Hough Green came back to level through their opening pair, Paul Woods & Keith Glover.

A further two wins from Andy McIntosh & Barry Sefton & Duane Lawton & Dave McIntosh set them in good stead.

However, the Top were equally determined as two in a row from Callum Taylor and Sharon Unsworth levelled the score at 4-4.

The outcome was resolved as Barry Sefton took the final game and the match for Hough Green SC.
