Charity gives everyone a Voice

-

AHALTON charity that gives everyone a chance to shine on the stage is bringing its team of talent to The Brindley in Runcorn.

Victoria Music Ltd (VML) will be performing The Rise And Fall Of Little Voice at the award-winning venue from March 8-10.

The show tells the tale of a girl with a hidden talent and was written by Jim Cartwright.

Among those on stage will be Runcorn grandmother Helen Jenkinson in her first major drama role.

Helen has done some musical theatre with VML previously but has never faced an audience before.

She said: “Acting and singing was always my passion and dream many years ago but there were no opportunities apart from school plays at the time so my dream died and the confidence went with it.

“I am so pleased and proud of myself getting this part, it has been so much fun working with the rest of the cast that sometimes it’s been difficult to keep a straight face.

“The script is hilariously funny, passionate with dialogue and accents that challenge my acting skills.”

Adam Choat, a member of the Take Phat tribute act, is directing.

He said: “Directing this show has been an amazing experience for me and I know my passion for it will be conveyed on the stage through the ● brilliant cast in the show.”

VML formed 11 years ago to provide access to the arts for all, irrespective of means or ability.

It now holds weekly wellbeing drop-ins in Runcorn and Widnes, which are free to access and encompass refreshments, crafts and music.

Shows such as the upcoming one raise cash to fund such sessions.

The popular VML shows at the Brindley Theatre are produced to raise these much needed funds.

Tickets are on sale at the box office 0151 907 8360 or online at The Brindley website.
