Stadium put boot into Welly

ON Monday night in the Widnes & District Darts League, the Widnes Bowling Club 501 League continued.

Halton Stadium at home to the Wellington took the first two games through Alan Magee (15 and 17 darts and 120 finish) and John Kilkenny.

The Wellington’s Anthony Hall (180) recovered a point only to see the Stadium record a further two wins via John Kilkenny & Joe Kelly and John Bowles & Alan Magee.

Karl Whitfield & James Holden claimed the next game for the Wellington, but the Stadium were on a roll as they won the final three games and the match through John Bowles (15 and 18 darts), Joe Kelly (17 and 14 darts, 180 and 104 finish) and J Jackson (19 darts).

The Mill Brow SC at home to the Millfield conceded the first game to the visitors’ Ian Wall.

The Brow came back to level through Chris Bright and then went ahead via Tony Roach (180).

The Millfield’s opening pair, Billy Fox & Ian Wall, recovered a point, but the Brow were on their tails as Dave Powell & Tony Roach (19 darts) took the next game.

Parity was restored as Chris Taylor & Alan Sutton levelled for the Millfield. The Brow’s Dean Birks and Dave Powell took the next two games ensuring the Brow’s victory.

The Millfield’s Alan Sutton took the final game, but it was merely a consolatio­n.
