Rob joy as Hotel are victorious

ON Friday night in the Widnes & District Darts League, the Mill Brow SC RTB League continued.

In Division Two, the Main Top at home to the Cricketers Arms took the first game through Alan Wright. Graham Fenney then levelled for Cricketers Arms.

A further two victories from Owen Batty and opening pair, Peter Mason & Paul Mason, gave the Cricketers Arms a good lead.

The Top recovered a point via Roy Caldwell & Nick Thornhill, but that was to be as good as it got for them as the Cricketers Arms proceeded to take the remaining four games and the match.

Ian Connor & Owen Batty, Paul Mason, Brian Dwyer and Peter Mason claimed the victories wrapping up a 7-2 success.

The Mersey Hotel at home to the Birchfield conceded the first two games to the visitors’ Dave Jones and Keith Allen.

The Mersey replied, taking three games in a row via D Shipley, S Woodward & Ray Cowley and Rob Cotty & Paul Cotty.

The Birchfield’s Matty Fisher & John Leather then levelled the score before Trevor Chadwick nudged them ahead 4-3.

Parity was restored in the penultimate game as Dave Cotty won whilst Rob Cotty’s triumph in the final game ensured the Mersey’s victory.

Hough Green at home to the Corpy Club conceded the first game to the visitors’ Alan Moran.

Keith Glover then levelled for Hough Green, before Joey Bamber took them ahead.

The Corpy levelled via Dave Pickles & Vicky Longton.

A further two victories from pairs Alan Moran & Alan Pennington and Dave Cowan & Jeff Thompson then edged the Corpy closer to the winning post.

Hough Green recovered a point via Russ Hardman (16 darts) only to see Corpy Club secure the final two contests sealing a 6-3 victory on the night.
