Money will fund Catalyst trips

-

MONEY has been donated to a Widnes museum to fund class trips for one of the town’s schools.

Pupils at Lunt’s Heath Primary School were treated to a science show and hands-on workshop as part of the Catalyst Science Discovery Centre’s educational programme.

The West Bank facility’s scheme explores science and technology specific to the chemical industry and its impact on life.

The money was given by homebuilder Taylor Wimpey North West.

Catalyst marketing manager Meryl Jameson said: “We’re very thankful to Taylor Wimpey for this helpful donation, it’s great to see them support the local Widnes community and Lunt’s Heath Primary School.

“It’s really important for us to make science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) subjects fun and ● available to the younger members of our community and this donation helped us do that.

“The children enjoyed the whole experience, it was a delight to see how they got involved.”

Both Lunt’s Heath and Catalyst are close to Taylor Wimpey’s Norlands Green development on Norlands Lane.

Taylor Wimpey North West sales manager Emily Nicklin said: “We’re always committed to getting involved with local communities and organisations, like the Catalyst Science Discovery Centre, who are passionate about educating younger people.

“We’re eager to support more community causes as we continue to build at Norlands Green and look forward working with more local initiatives throughout the year.”
