ANIMAL NEGLECT CURFEW ORDER
A RUNCORN man convicted for charges of animal neglect has had his curfew extended after failing to complete his unpaid work requirement.
Shane Baldwin, 20, of Worcester Court, near Latham Avenue, was handed an extra four weeks of electronic monitoring at North Cheshire Magistrates’ Court.
Magistrates deciding against triggering a suspended sentence against Baldwin because of the defendant’s limited previous convictions.
He was ordered to remain at home between the hours of 6pm and 6am between March 3 and 29, and his unpaid work requirements are to continue.
Court papers said Baldwin had failed to attend community service sessions as required between January 20 and 27, potentially in breach of a 16-week prison suspended prison sentence imposed in October 2017.
Last July the RSPCA revealed that Baldwin, previously of Masseyfield Road, Runcorn, had been slapped with a 12-month community order and told to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work over the offences in July 2017 after admitting two counts of causing unnecessary suffering and failing to give proper care to two dogs, committed during October and November 2016.
