Man pleads guilty to shooting boy, 16
A MAN has pleaded guilty to shooting a teenage boy with a sawn-off shotgun in Runcorn
Tony Evans, 28, of Ruthin Court, Castlefields, Runcorn, admitted possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and malicious wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm at Chester Crown Court on Friday.
The pleas relate to an incident in which a 16-year-old boy was shot while sat in a car on The Croft in The Brow area of Runcorn on Thursday, November 30.
Evans appeared by ● video link from HMP Altcourse for the hearing.
The defendant was arrested at the start of January having evaded police during previous weeks.
Crimestoppers had offered a £5,000 reward less than a fortnight earlier on December 22 for information that would lead to his whereabouts.
His Honour Judge Roger Dutton, presiding at Chester Crown Court, adjourned the case for sentencing, expected to take place no earlier than May 29.
