Have a hot cup of tea at fire station

-

RUNCORN residents have been invited to the town’s fire station to enjoy cake and a cuppa in aid of two charities.

The Macmillan coffee morning at the Heath Road base will take place from 10am-noon on Good Friday, March 30.

There will be coffee, tea, cakes and juice as well as a raffle.

Visitors can have a tour of the station and children will be able to explore the fire engines and take part in a safety-themed Easter egg hunt for £2 to take one home with them.

The event is being held in aid of Macmillan Cancer Research and The Fire Fighters Charity.

Heather Fox, Runcorn Fire Station firefighter and organiser, said: “We want as many people to come to the event on Good Friday as possible.

“As well as enjoying drinks and homemade cakes, tours of the station and fire engines and an Easter egg hunt, visitors will be able to chat to firefighters about home and road safety advice and get answers to any questions they may have.”

All the money raised from the drink and cake sales and the Easter egg hunt will go to the two charities.

Heather added: “They are two fantastic charities and we want to raise as much money for them as possible.”
