Cancer fight inspires colleagues

-

● A CO-WORKER’S fight against ovarian cancer has inspired Halton Housing staff to complete a series of challenges.

Mo Forshaw’s colleagues will be taking part in an overnight stay in Norton Priory’s medieval undercroft, a treadmill relay and a woodland walk.

To maximise the spookiness of the stay at the ruined monastic site, spiritualist Karen Dowling will be attending and doing readings with the group.

The 24-hour fundraiser is in aid of the charity Target Ovarian Cancer and has been named #TeamMo in honour of their colleague and 21-year Halton Housing stalwart Mo, who was recently diagnosed with a return of the disease.

Target Ovarian Cancer works to improve early diagnosis, fund lifesaving research and provide support to patients.

Debbie Jameson, one of the Halton Housing members of staff who are leading the fundraising efforts for #TeamMo said: “We’re all coming together in support of one of our colleagues Mo Forshaw who has had an ongoing battle with ovarian cancer. Mo has worked for Halton Borough Council, and then Halton Housing for 21 years. We, as her colleagues wanted to find a way to not only raise money for this fantastic cause, but also to show her that we are all supporting her with her ongoing battle.”

“The #TeamMo fundraising event aims to raise as much awareness, especially in women around the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer.
