Business award deadline looms

-

COMPANIES have two weeks left to enter the 2018 Halton Business Awards.

The closing date for entries is Saturday, March 31.

Steve Rotheram, Liverpool City Region metro mayor, will be presenting this year’s awards on May 18, which will be the 10th time the event has taken place.

The search for contenders was set in motion at a recent launch event, attended by 2017’s winners Anthony’s Travel and Cheshire Bathrooms.

There are 11 award categories to be contested this year: apprentice or young achiever of the year; business improvement district, Astmoor and Halebank; entrepreneur of the year; excellent customer service award; Halton Foundation award for responsible business; health and wellbeing in business; independent retailer of the year; keep it green; made in Halton; marketing excellence; and new business of the year.

Following the launch, Rachael Owen, Halton Chamber Of Commerce And Enterprise chief executive, said: “What struck home to me was how much these local awards mean to so many people: to the organisations that participate in them, to our wider business community and to everyone that lives and works in our borough.

“So often, we tend to get embroiled in the everyday issues and focus on areas for improvement that sometimes we forget the distance we have travelled and the things we have achieved.

“This is why the Halton Business Awards are so highly valued, as they provide everyone with the opportunity to review where they are up to, realise how much they have accomplished, to recognise how good they are and to share this success by celebrating these achievements.”

She added: “I very much hope that everyone will once again support these awards both by entering and by joining together to celebrate all our achievements at the glittering gala dinner, which will be held at the Select Security Stadium.

“This year we are delighted to be welcoming our Metro Mayor Steve Rotheram to what is a truly fabulous evening and a wonderful celebration of businesses.

“I look forward to seeing you there.”
