Stadium’s display is flawless

ON Monday night the Widnes Bowling Club 501 League continued.

The Goldmine at home to the Mill Brow SC took the first two games via Karl Windisch (19 and 17 darts) and Chris Hough. The Brow’s Paul Linger recovered a point, only to see the Goldmine’s Karl Windisch & Chris Hough (19 darts) and Sean Bell & Terry Roach (18 darts) & 103 finish for Terry Roach. The Brow rallied, taking the next two games to narrow the gap through Jack Dunn & Dean Birks and Jack Dunn. Terry Roach then claimed the penultimat­e game to ensure the Goldmine’s victory. A further win from S Littler added to the Goldmine’s already-winning tally.

Halton Stadium at home to the Hammer & Pincers won all nine games. Kenny Murphy, Colin Rigby (17 darts) and Neil Ward (180) in the singles started the rout. Neil Ward & John Kilkenny, Kevin Garcia & Colin Rigby (15 darts) and John Bowles & Ged Price then triumphed in the pairs. And John Bowles (14 and 14 darts and two 180s), Kevin Garcia (13 and 14 darts and 180) and John Kilkenny then completed the whitewash.

Simms Cross Institute at home to Widnes Bowling Club conceded the first three games to the visitors’ Dave Pickles, Andy Beddows (18 darts) and Scott Grady (15 darts and 180). The Stute’s S Pennington & Mick Cullen and Glynn Owen added a further two wins to the Stute’s tally. However, the Bowler were not to be stopped as Joe Batty (17 darts & 164 finish) and Alan Clark took the final two games and the match for Widnes Bowling Club.

The Wellington at home to the Millfield SC took the first two games via Anthony Hall (19 and 18 darts) and Barry Highfield (180). The Millfield’s Chris Taylor then recovered a point. The Wellington rallied, taking the next two games through Ste Whitfield & C Booth and Karl Whitfield & Anthony Hall. The Millfield were equally determined as Billy Fox & Ray Dutton and Brian Dutton took the next two games.

But this was the Wellington’s night as Ste Whitfield and Karl Whitfield took the final two games and the match for their team.
