Youth are helped to reach potential

As part of the new campaign, young adults are being recruited to NCFE Level One or Two courses in employability skills.

The 12 week course helps upskill young people, providing support in key areas such as CV writing, interview skills, communication skills and developing inter-personal skills.

It enables people to become job ready, whether that be finding employment, apprenticeships or further education.

Students taking part in the courses also have the opportunity to enjoy work placements with Widnes Vikings or local businesses, developing their CVs and work confidence.

Businesses that support this pro- gramme by providing an eight week work placement to students will not only have the opportunity to benefit from gaining a new team member without any cost, but will also receive free 12 month membership of the Widnes Vikings Business Ambassador Network.

Mr Munson added: “The Learning Centre has countless examples of supporting people to find direction, develop their skills and fulfil their potential. If you sign up to support One Of Our Own, your business will truly be making a real difference to the lives of people and offer a valuable contribution to the community.” ● To sign up to support One Of Our Own or for further information contact Liam Clark by calling 0151 495 2250 or email liamc@widnesvikings.co.uk
