APAEDOPHILE from Runcorn stabbed by a vigilante after he molested two girls was caught smuggling drugs into prison.

Colin Holland, of Baxter Close, was attacked in his home by an intruder who shouted ‘nonce’ and knifed him.

The 44-year-old was awaiting sentence at the time after being found guilty of sexual assaults against two girls in the 2000s.

But the disabled pervert, who uses a wheelchair, was spared jail last April and handed 12 months in prison, suspended for two years.

He has appeared in the dock once again, after being caught handing cannabis and steroids to an inmate at HMP Altcourse.

Liverpool Crown Court heard he was seen ‘acting suspiciously’ when visiting the prisoner with another person on July 23 last year.

Chris Hopkins, prosecuting, said the incident was caught on CCTV and the drugs were recovered from the inmate.

Holland was stopped by security and denied doing anything wrong, claiming he had been searched on the way into the jail.

Officers retrieved three packages of can- nabis, weighing 94.2g, and 76 stanozolol tablets, but Holland still denied any wrongdoing.

Mr Hopkins said the cannabis had a street value of £940 but was ‘clearly worth more in prison’ if sold on by the inmate.

Holland pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply Class B and Class C drugs and breaching his suspended sentence. He was previously convicted of cultivation of cannabis in 2008, for which he received a conditional discharge.

The two sexual assaults resulted in him being put on the Sex Offenders Register and paying £250 towards prosecution costs.

One offence took place after Holland had sent the victim a message online asking if she was home alone.

He arrived 10 minutes later and pestered the girl for a kiss, then kissed her, pressed himself against her and groped her

His victim fled to another room and used her phone so she could tell him someone was on the way.

Holland, who seemed ‘a bit drunk’, twanged the bra strap of another young girl in the property and left.

The other assault took place in a caravan and involved similar circumstances with a separate victim.

Chester Crown Court heard she asked him to stop and felt ‘freaked out’ by his physical advances.

Jeremy Rawson, defending, previously said his client suffered a brain injury after being beaten up in 1996.

At the latest hearing he said: “The defendant suffered a severe head injury in 1996 and as a result he spent a very long period of time in hospital.

“He was effectively having to learn how to speak and to walk again. He still has considerable mobility problems.

“He had some considerable difficulty with people in the neighbourhood following his conviction last year. He was stabbed.”

At the time, Cheshire police said no arrests had been made in connection with the stabbing.

Judge Elizabeth Nicholls said the court could not proceed to sentence without an up-to-date medical report. Holland was bailed until his sentencing on May 4.
