She was assisted in answering questions from the public by Lindsey Malone, North West Boroughs Trust’s assistant director for health, Leigh Thompson, director of commissioning and service delivery at NHS Halton Clinical Commissioning Group, and Lucy Gardner, director of transformation for the hospital.
The redevelopment is part of the wider NHS Healthy New Town scheme for Halton Lea, which is one of the borough’s most deprived neighbourhoods.
Halton Hospital opened in 1976, and the CMTC, which was previously privately owned, was brought into trust ownership in 2012.
Ms Pickup said the proposals have been drawn up following five public consultation events divided between
