U9s just miss out in thriller

-

HFH U9 28 Leyland Warriors U9 32 IN a very evenlymatched game it was Leyland that pinched it in the last two minutes.

In attack for the Hornets it was Joe Bebbington and James Prescott running the line showing some impressive passing with Cian Winstanley and Ollie Jenkins making some impressive yards up the field.

There was a try for Kian Fahey after an explosive run and a hat-trick for Prescott and Joe Heany.

In defence every player improved on previous weeks but it was Heany who controlled the middle of the park which earned him the man-ofthe-match accolade.

Prescott topped the tackle count and he was awarded top tackler award and the Leyland coaches’ man-of-thematch award.

HFH U12 Reds 40 Wigan St Cuthberts 0 THIS was another impressive performance from the U12 Reds in their latest group stage cup game.

With eight of the tries coming from six different players it was a pleasure to watch the team moving the ball, allowing the whole side to create opportunities for each other.

Credit has to be given to the opposition players who could have easily become disheartened and let their heads drop, they kept going until the final whistle.

Tries came from Harry Robertson and Thomas Jack who both bagged braces along with solo efforts from Charlie Feely – who was making his debut – Jake Davies, Jack Foster and Logan Gibson.

Conversions were knocked over by Harry Robertson and Jake Davies with a pair apiece.
