Prince’s Trust in recruitment drive

-

CHESHIRE Fire And Rescue Service is looking for young people from Halton to embark on the free Prince’s Trust course.

The programme, which runs for 12 weeks starting May 29, gives residents between the ages of 16 and 25 the chance to learn skills, earn qualifications and boost their self-confidence.

Cheshire fire service has been working with The Prince’s Trust for 25 years and said it the scheme continues to help young people into full-time employment and job-related training.

A spokeswoman for the brigade said 80% of programme graduates have gone on to achieve other things as a result of taking part.

During the 12 weeks the team will take part in activities in order to graduate including: raising cash to complete a neighbourhood project, food hygiene and first aid courses, health and safety and driving awareness training, a four-day residential trip packed with team-building activities.

Jason McTigue, programme manager, said: “The team will be based at Runcorn Fire Station and anyone who takes part will get to meet new people, improve their confidence and develop employability skills.

“They will also gain qualifications such as first aid and get to attend a graduation event at the end of the programme.

“You may know someone who would benefit from taking part in the programme or have a family member who is stuck in a bit of a rut.

“If so then please give us a call to find out more.”

Other agencies can also refer young people to the programme.
