Cheers! Beer festival back for first time in years

ALES galore will be pouring next Friday as Runcorn hosts what has been tipped as its first beer festival in 10 years.

Organisers said the time has come to celebrate the town’s growing interest in craft beers.

Millbank Linnets stadium, home to Runcorn Linnets FC, on Murdishaw Avenue, will host the event at 7pm on Friday, July 27.

The festival has been organised by Linnets chairman Mike Bignall and Lady Sinks The Boose beer blog writer Kirsty Walker.

Breweries attending include Chapter Brewing and Blueball, both based in Runcorn. Hot and cold snacks will be available.

Beer fans will be able to try drinks from further afield plus ciders.

Prices are £5 for general admission, £4 with CAMRA discount.

An entry plus 12 beer tokens package is available for £20, £19 for CAMRA members, with an extra two tokens if bought in advance. Beer tokens are £1.50 each, and cover a half pint.

Barrel sponsorshi­p is £80, including four tickets, four tokens, an advert in the beer list plus social media plugs.
