Raiders steal watches haul

DETECTIVES have appealed for witnesses to come forward after cash and watches were stolen during a burglary in Runcorn.

A Cheshire police spokesman said a house was broken into while the occupant was out between 4pm and 5.15pm on Tuesday, July 10.

A search took place and items were taken.

Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area is urged to contact the police.

Detective Sergeant Robert McLoughlin said: “Burglary is a serious offence that targets people in the place they should be able to feel most safe – their own home.

“It is deeply unsettling to know that someone has broken into your home and rummaged through your belongings and we are determined to catch whoever was responsibl­e and bring them to justice.

“Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and I urge anyone who was in the area and saw, or has dashcam footage of, anything suspicious to call Cheshire police on 101, quoting incident number 119721, give us the details via https://cheshire. police. uk/ contact/ general-enquiries or contact Crimestopp­ers anonymousl­y on 0800 555 111.
