‘Pupils deserve credit for dedication and hard work’

-

SAINTS Peter And Paul Catholic College students in Widnes were once again celebrating their successes and achievements in their GCSEs with the school delighted to record improvements in key areas.

Sixty-eight of the class of 2018 were awarded a special commendation for exceptional progress compared to their peers nationally.

College leaders said the results reinforced St Peter And Paul’s stance as a ‘good school which has high standards’.

They also paid tribute to the hard work and dedication devoted to studies by the students, staff and parents, and said these should be celebrated as this year’s cohort moves to their next phase of education, employment or training.

Danielle Scott, principal, said: “Congratulations to all of our students.

“We will continue to have high expectations and set high standards across the college so that all of our students achieve or exceed their potential.

“Students and staff are proud of our school and we are extremely positive about the years ahead.

“The hard work and professionalism of staff has been a key factor in the successes recognised today and the students deserve a huge amount of credit for their dedication and commitment to all aspects of college life which has culminated in their achievements.

“The college community comes together in times of need and also to celebrate success.

“This past month has seen highs and lows but consistently we have seen demonstrations of warmth, care and courage.

“Saints Peter And Paul is at the heart of this community and it is one that I am extremely proud and privileged to serve.” ●
