Widnes Cricket Club at home to the Millfield took the first game through Ben Hewitt. Ian Wall (18 darts) then levelled for the Millfield. The Cricket Club took the lead again with two in a row from Adam Mellor and opening pair, Adam Mellor & Dan Mellor.

The Millfield’s Mark Middleton & Mike Howard (18 darts) narrowed the gap, only to see the Cricket Club’s Rob Morris & Billy Cain (18 darts) take the next game, putting them close to the finishing line. However, their chances were dashed as the Millfield rallied, winning the remaining three games and the match through, Billy Fox, Mike Howard and Keith Horabin.

Widnes Bowling Club ‘B’ at home to the Mill Brow SC started as they meant to carry on, taking the first three games through Dave Cowan, Jeff Thompson and Dave Batty.

The Brow struck back with two in a row from Dave Powell & Ray Linger and John McWhinnie & Kevin Helps, narrowing the gap.

The Bowler came back with a vengeance taking the next three games via Dave Cowan & Dave Pickles, Mike Ruane and Mark Connor ensuring their match success.

Hough Green SC at home to Widnes Bowling Club ‘A’ saw the Bowler’s Dave Gerrard claim the first game. Hough Green then levelled through Derek Turton (13 darts). Joe Batty put the Bowler ahead, and a further win from opening pair, Alex McGill & Harry Ellis stretched the lead.

Hough Green were still in with a chance as second pair Dave McIntosh & Tony Barker took the next game.

However, it was not to be as Widnes Bowling Club ‘A’ rallied, taking the next four games and the match through Scott Byrne & Andy Beddows, Scott Grady (18 darts), Scott Byrne (11 darts) and Andy Beddows.

The Mersey Hotel at home to the Farnworth SC started badly as they saw the visitors grab the first four games through Keith Allen, Nev Goff, Trevor Chadwick and opening pair, Dave Herley & Mark Johnson. The Mersey then recovered a point through second pair Callum Taylor & Rob Cotty, only to see Farnworth’s Keith Allen & Trevor Chadwick take it back. A further win then came from the Mersey’s Dave Cotty, but again Farnworth SC were on a roll as they took the remaining two games and the match via Andy Davies and Carl Bryan.
