Brazel has returned to Runcorn

-

POPULAR midfielder Harry Brazel has re-signed for Runcorn Town after a short spell at Evo-Stik League side Leek Town.

Brazel initially joined Town in January on a dual registration deal with National League North side Stockport County, making his debut at Padiham and going on to appear 14 times in the second half of the campaign, scoring six times and picking up three man-of-the-match awards.

His appearances were sporadic, though, having being recalled back to Edgeley Park on several occassions when he was required. After his release in the summer he signed for Leek Town, but has now switched back to the Viridor Community Stadium for a second spell. ●

Runcorn boss Chris Herbert was delighted with the signing.

He said: “Harry is going to be a big signing for us. We lost Craig Cairns, Joe Holt and Harry from last season’s team and I think most teams would struggle to replace any one of them let alone all three.

“However, Harry was the energy that was pivotal to all the good that we did during the second half of the season last term, and I am delighted he is coming back. Adding Harry to the squad now is a big boost. We have missed that extra quality going forward to link the midfield and strikers, and he can also play in a few different positions which will come in handy. We are looking to improve on what we are doing and Harry really does fit the bill perfectly.

“He will go straight in to the squad for the Barnoldswick Town game on Saturday.” ● Town fans can book a seat on the minibus to the match at Barnoldswick on Saturday. It will leave the Pavilions car park at 1pm. The return shared cost for the trip is £8 for adults and £4 for U16s. Visit the club’s website for full details.
