Libraries host tech sessions
TECH events are taking place across Halton to give children and adults a chance to give ‘augmented reality’ a go.
Augmented reality is an interactive experience in which virtual objects are imposed in some way on a view of the real world.
Although visual modifications are most well known, other senses can be affected such as sound and smell.
Those attending will also be able to learn creative coding, and make and create using digital equipment.
Halton Borough Council said extra events are happening at Ditton and Runcorn libraries after recent popular outings.
A spokesman for the local authority said code clubs also take place every Monday at Ditton and Runcorn libraries from 3.45-5pm, and on Tuesdays at Widnes and Halton Lea from 3.45-5pm.
He said the sessions are ideal for primary-aged children and parents to learn together, featuring coding ‘with scratch, micro:bits and code bugs’.
Cllr Phil Harris (libraries) said: “Libraries throughout the North West are celebrating learning during North West Learn Fest and Halton Libraries invite you to attend our amazing activities where you can learn something new and have fun.” All activities are free of charge.
