Arrests after raid on home
POLICE swooped on a Runcorn cul-de-sac to arrest a suspects wanted in connection with an aggravated burglary in Frodsham.
Daniel Hayes, 27, was being sought following an with an incident at a property in Frodsham on October 14 in which an 85-yearold woman is reported to have been assaulted.
Police cars descended on Hedge Hey in Castlefields, Runcorn, on the afternoon of October 16, where Hayes was found in a public area.
A Cheshire Constabulary spokeswoman said he was first taken to hospital and then ‘straight back’ to custody.
Hayes, of Marsh Lane, Frodsham, was arrested and later charged on suspicion of affray, fraud, dangerous driving, criminal damage to a police vehicle, possessing an offensive weapon and affray.
He was also arrested on suspicion of aggravated ● burglary but was not charged with the offence.
Charlotte Fisher, 30, of Hedge Hey, Castlefields, Runcorn, was charged with fraud as part of the probe.
A third suspect, aged 40, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and released under investigation. Hayes and Fisher appeared at Chester Magistrates’ Court last Thursday, October 18, where they were remanded back into custody to appear at Chester Crown Court on November 15.
Following last Tuesday’s arrest in Hedge Hey, residents reported seeing a helicopter, potentially an air ambulance, landing on a field at Bridgewater Park Primary School on Castlefields Avenue. One woman said she saw nothing of the commotion during the arrest but took her son to see the chopper take off.
Chester police tweeted on Tuesday: “Officers investigating an aggravated burglary in Frodsham involving an 85-year-old old woman have now arrested a 27-year-old man in relation to the incident.”
