Top class grade in Oftsed report
AWIDNES nursery has been deemed outstanding by Ofsted inspec- tors.
Daisy Maisies Chapelfield, on Wilsden Road, was given high praise in their report.
Relationships with parents were outstanding and staff have an excellent understanding of their role in promoting children’s learning.
The report said staff were inspiring in the way they share information with parents and guide them to support their children’s learning at home.
It said the management team was praised for the way they developed relationships with other professionals, agencies and schools, which result in extremely well conducted strategies which help to promote excellent outcomes for children.
The inspector noted that staff give exceptionally high priority to children’s wellbeing and children show high levels of confidence in the nursery.
Children and staff show a genuine interest and passion for supporting children’s enjoyment of learning and the chil- ● dren make outstanding progress in their learning while there. The inspector also stated that it is evident that the leaders are passionate and ambitious with high expectations of what children can achieve.
Daisy Maisies has been told to continue to further develop staff skills and knowledge to continue with their outstanding provision.
While there, the inspector observed the quality of teaching, evaluated activities and discussed the impacts on children’s learning.
Inspector Sue Smith said: “Children are exceptionally polite, kind and respectful towards others. They are extremely well prepared for their next stage of learning. Younger children engage in mark-making activities and older children practise recognising and writing letters.
“Younger children begin to recognise shapes and count and older children engage in some simple calculations. All children make substantial progress from their starting points.”
In February Daisy Maisies sister nursery on Appleton Village also received outstanding results, with Ofsted praising the extremely passionate and ambitious leaders and staff.
Jane O’Connor, owner of Daisy Maisies said: “Thank you to all the team for all their exceptional work over the last few years. Thanks also to the parents who spoke to the Ofsted inspectors.”
