SOG is contracted to construct new offices

-

ARUNCORN technology and commercial zone has revealed its latest developments.

SOG Ltd, owners of Heath Business And Technical Park, has been contracted to construct a building for chemical giant Mexichem Fluor.

The global firm supplies fluorine products, technologies and services to industries including pharmaceuticals, automotive, specialist polymers, refrigeration and airconditioning.

Mexichem, which has bases in the UK, USA, Japan and Mexico, has been operating at The Heath since 2010 where it has a research and development facility.

An SOG spokesman said Mexichem’s upcoming building will provide much-needed office space for its expanding operation.

The site will be the latest in a series of new-build and refurbishment projects at The Heath. SOG recently completed a new high-tech research and development facility for Nanoco Group plc, and has plans to refurbish another building for a customer due to move in next year.

A 3G pitch also opened a 3G football pitch on Friday (November 23), with a match in aid of the Stick ‘n’ Step charity for children with cerebral palsy.

John Lewis, SOG managing director, said: “New buildings offer businesses the opportunity to reinforce their brand ● identity away from shared buildings while still being able to access all of The Heath’s communal facilities such as restaurant, conference and meeting rooms, and leisure suite.

“2018 has been immensely busy year for us.

“We’ve seen a steep rise in enquiries for space over recent months, particularly from start-ups and SME businesses, which has been very encouraging taking into account all the uncertainty over Brexit.”

Mr Lewis said: “The Heath is more than a location for busi- an nesses.

“Our ethos has always been to open our leisure facilities to the entire local community.

“Over the festive period we have a number of functions taking place.

“These include a Christmas lunch on December 19, and a Christmas party on December 7 with an ‘80s, 90s and now’ music theme.

“From December 3-7 we have a Christmas market with a variety of stalls where shoppers can purchase hand-made crafts, beauty products, jewellery and books.” ●
