Step Up! to challenge

-

● PEOPLE, who would like to support cerebral palsy charity Stick ‘n’ Step and get fit at the same time, are being invited to take part in the Step Up! Challenge this summer.

Teams of up to five can measure the distance they walk over a four week period up to August and record the steps, using a pedometer, Fitbit, app or activity tracker.

Once individuals or teams have set up an online fundraising page they can encourage friends and family to sponsor them for taking part in the challenge.

The Step Up! Motivator will help set targets for daily, weekly and monthly goals to work towards.

Totals are recorded on a Step Up! record sheet and submitted to Stick ‘ n’ Step.

The winning team and individual will win the title of Step Up! Champion 2019 and a free team pass to take part in Break Out Liverpool.

Jenny Snell, head of fundraising at Stick ‘n’ Step, said: “This is a great way for busy people to combine fitness, fun and fundraising.

“You don’t need any special equipment and it will build team spirit and morale.

“Some teams are already planning on a rewards scheme when they reach their goals – from an extended lunch break to a workplace social.

“A team from Halton Chamber of Commerce is already planning on stepping the equivalent number of steps that it would take to climb Snowdon!”

To take part in the Stick ‘n’ Step Step up! Challenge or to find out more about other fundraising opportunities for the charity, please contact Jenny on 0151 638 0888 or email fundraising@sticknstep. org
