A CHESHIRE police officer who filmed himself performing an indecent act in a public toilet and sent the footage to a third party has resigned.
At a misconduct hearing this month, the panel ruled that PC Patrick Campbell would have been dismissed without notice, had he not already tendered his resignation before proceedings against him.
Cheshire Constabulary’s standards page said PC Campbell had also used the force information systems to conduct research on women he knew, but with no policing purpose.
He also sent pictures of an incident act to a third party without any legitimate policing purpose.
A Cheshire police spokesman said the images were from a collision.
He said PC Campbell had been based in Chester.
The misconduct entry said: “PC Campbell, who resigned from the police service prior to misconduct proceedings, filmed himself committing a sexual act in a public toilet and sent the footage to a third party.
“The officer systematically used force systems without a policing purpose to research numerous females he had come into contact with via dating apps
“Or they were known to him through other means.
“The officer also took photographs of a policing incident on his personal mobile and sent them to a third party.
“The officer had no legitimate policing purpose for taking and sending these images.”
