Many students are leaving today for university and it is great that most gained their first choice.

Students are going to study at universities across the UK, including Liverpool, Chester, Manchester, Leeds, Lancaster, Edge Hill, Queen’s University Belfast and Newcastle’s Northumbria University.

They will study courses such as English, Archaeology and History, Law, Criminology, Sport And PE, Policing, Nursing, Primary Teaching, Civil Engineering And Architecture, Quantity Surveying and Forensic Science to name just a few.

Others will go onto employment or apprenticeship including a student who has gained a prestigious degree apprenticeship with Bentley Cars in Crewe.

Mr Wright, principal of Ormiston Bolingbroke Academy said: “I am thrilled for all students receiving results today.

“The board of governors and I are delighted at our students’ achievements that demonstrate the ambition we have for our academy.

“I am really pleased that we have 100% pass rate this year which demonstrates the very inclusive nature of our sixth form.

“Our pupils, teaching and non-teaching staff have worked incredibly hard to ensure that we meet our mission statement to give students the opportunity to go to university or get a good job that will give them a life of choice and opportunity.

“It goes without saying that we are very grateful for the continued support of our parents.

“It really is a day for all of us to feel very proud and celebrate together.

“The biggest plaudits must go to the students themselves. Our sixth form students really are an inspiration to younger students in the academy who should believe that anything is possible if they are willing to work hard and put everything into their studies, just like the sixth formers leaving us today.

“Our focus on providing high quality careers advice and guidance has ensured that many of our students are leaving us today for university whilst others are going into employment or onto further training and apprenticeships – we wish each and every student all the very best.

“I hope everyone stays in touch to let us know how they are doing; everyone is always welcome back, anytime.

“There are limited places left in our very successful sixth form for students who want to join us from other schools.

“Anyone interested in this should contact acting head of sixth form, Mr Fenner, for more details.”

Nick Hudson, CEO of Ormiston Academies Trust, said: “I would like to congratulate students, staff and the whole school community at Ormiston Bolingbroke Academy on their exam results today.

“They are testament to the hard work and determination of students, supported by their teachers and parents.

“As a trust, it is our absolute priority to ensure that every student has the opportunity to fulfil their potential and the skills to succeed whether going on to study at a leading university or entering the world of work.

“We look forward to working with the academy to build on these achievements.”
