New housing board chairman
HALTON Housing has announced that Clive Deadman is to be appointed as group board chairman at the organisation’s annual meeting on September 19.
He will take over from Ingrid Fife, who is stepping down after 10 years in the role.
A Halton Housing spokeswoman said Clive’s background is in private equity, and he has held senior leadership roles in a range of utilities and infrastructure companies
She said Clive has extensive experience in social housing, the NHS, consumer champions and a range of other commercially-driven not-for-profit organisations, adding that he passionately believes in the importance of great customer service.
Liz Haworth, Halton Housing chief executive, said: “Clive is an accomplished business leader and an experienced board member in both the public and non-profit sectors making him a natural successor to Ingrid who has been instrumental in helping Halton Housing become the organisation we are today.
“I look forward to working closely with Clive and delivering our ambitious plans to build new homes, provide innovative customer services and make a difference in the places where we work.
“On behalf of Halton Housing’s board and all our colleagues, I thank Ingrid Fife for her dedication, passion and leadership throughout her service to the organisation”.
Clive said: “It is an honour to be appointed to succeed Ingrid Fife as group board chair and I am delighted at the prospect of joining Halton Housing at such an exciting time.
“I have long admired Halton Housing and its leadership team for its innovative and dynamic approach to delivering homes and services.
“Our desire to strengthen our customer service culture further will benefit the communities we serve, and I am excited about leading the organisation forward.”
Ingrid said: “Making the right appointment is key to ensuring the ongoing effectiveness of the board and the future viability of the business.
“I am confident that Clive will do an exceptional job.
“I am extremely proud of what has been achieved at Halton. The recent award of the highest rating by the regulator provides a sound platform for the organisation to move forward under the leadership of Clive and Liz.
“I wish Halton Housing all the very best as they enter their next phase.” ●
