New housing board chairman

HALTON Housing has announced that Clive Deadman is to be appointed as group board chairman at the organisati­on’s annual meeting on September 19.

He will take over from Ingrid Fife, who is stepping down after 10 years in the role.

A Halton Housing spokeswoma­n said Clive’s background is in private equity, and he has held senior leadership roles in a range of utilities and infrastruc­ture companies

She said Clive has extensive experience in social housing, the NHS, consumer champions and a range of other commercial­ly-driven not-for-profit organisati­ons, adding that he passionate­ly believes in the importance of great customer service.

Liz Haworth, Halton Housing chief executive, said: “Clive is an accomplish­ed business leader and an experience­d board member in both the public and non-profit sectors making him a natural successor to Ingrid who has been instrument­al in helping Halton Housing become the organisati­on we are today.

“I look forward to working closely with Clive and delivering our ambitious plans to build new homes, provide innovative customer services and make a difference in the places where we work.

“On behalf of Halton Housing’s board and all our colleagues, I thank Ingrid Fife for her dedication, passion and leadership throughout her service to the organisati­on”.

Clive said: “It is an honour to be appointed to succeed Ingrid Fife as group board chair and I am delighted at the prospect of joining Halton Housing at such an exciting time.

“I have long admired Halton Housing and its leadership team for its innovative and dynamic approach to delivering homes and services.

“Our desire to strengthen our customer service culture further will benefit the communitie­s we serve, and I am excited about leading the organisati­on forward.”

Ingrid said: “Making the right appointmen­t is key to ensuring the ongoing effectiven­ess of the board and the future viability of the business.

“I am confident that Clive will do an exceptiona­l job.

“I am extremely proud of what has been achieved at Halton. The recent award of the highest rating by the regulator provides a sound platform for the organisati­on to move forward under the leadership of Clive and Liz.
