Rehab rated good by CQC

-

RUNCORN substance addiction rehab unit Oasis Recovery has been recently inspected by the Care Quality Commission under its newly implemented rating system and was rated good across all five of the CQC’s core inspection questions.

The rating comes at a time when budget cuts to public drug and alcohol treatment services are at an all time high, with a recent investigation by parent company UKAT revealing a staggering £19 million cut to services across the North West in just six years.

UKAT believes these cuts have fuelled the rise in private rehab admissions to Oasis Recovery as addicts across the North West have ‘nowhere else to go’.

But it said it is good news for those who can opt for private treatment.

The Care Quality Commission’s inspection summary said: “We saw good interaction between staff and clients at the service, with respect being shown to all parties.

“Clients felt comfortable with staff at the service, and felt they could talk to them as many staff ● members were former clients in treatment programmes.

“The service was following best practice and national guidance with relation to treatment.”

Oasis Recovery was marked as good for all five core elements of the inspection, including safety, effectiveness, level of care provided, responsiveness, and the leadership of the service.

Eytan Alexander, managing director of the UKAT Group, which operates the Oasis Recovery Runcorn facility, said: “We’re thrilled with the recent CQC rating which followed their inspection earlier this year.

“It highlights the fantastic work that we have and will continue to do to help those suffering with addiction across the North West. Budget cuts to local treatment services are beginning to bite, but fortunately, we’re here to help.”

The report also highlights how Oasis Recovery Runcorn is a unique addiction rehab as it offers clients two different treatment programmes, allowing for tailored treatment and client choice.
