Club’s school partners
●
WIDNES Vikings are celebrating six schools partaking in the Partner Schools programme for the 2019/20 academic year.
The Partner Schools are Oakfield Community Primary School, Holy Family Catholic Primary School, All Saints Upton Primary, Lunt’s Heath Primary school, Halsnead Primary School and St John Fisher Catholic Primary School.
The Partner School programme sees schools utilise part of their Sports Premium funding in order to gain quality coaching and pupil engagement activity for every week of the academic year.
It also allows for school pupils to gain additional opportunities and unique experiences through education and health programmes.
Liam Clark, head of community for Widnes Vikings hailed the success of the partner school programme.
He said: “As a club we are elated to have these schools commit to the partnership over the academic year.
“We are excited to offer great opportunities to the whole school and open opportunities for pupils through various activities and experiences.
“The Partner Schools concept is not just about Rugby League, it is about using the ever-growing brand of Widnes Vikings and their high-quality community staff to engage, educate and inspire pupils through sporting and educational activity. For our whole team it is incredibly rewarding for schools to recognise the impact we are having by renewing as a Partner School or joining the programme for the academic year.”
There is still time for schools to get involved in our Partner School Programme or other school programmes.
