Halton bang on point to scoop Terry Abbott Memorial Trophy

-

with the Cricket Club leading by one, the Goldmine made it all square through Sean Bell with one to play. With everything on the line it was the Goldmine who held it together as Phillip Dunn took the last to put them through to the final.

Halton Stadium v Goldmine After two close semi-finals it came as no surprise to anyone that we were in for an equally close final.

The Stadium took a two leg lead through Alan Magee and Tony Jackson but the Goldmine then pulled one back with a win for Colin Grindley.

Another win for the Stadium through Mike Callaghan & Tony Jackson restored the Stadium’s two leg advantage before Sean Bell & Colin Grindley (12 Darts) cut the deficit to one. Robbie Gorst & Joe Price for the Stadium and then Sean Bell (17 Darts) for the Goldmine then had a win each as the match went into the last two legs.

Unfortunately for the Goldmine it was the Robbie Gorst won the next leg for the Stadium to give them a wellearned trophy. Despite the loss the Goldmine never gave up and still managed to take the last leg through Alan Jones to keep it to the narrowest margin possible. A fantastic display to make the Halton

Stadium winners of the Terry Abbott Memorial Trophy 2019/20.
