Supreme sounds at The Brindley

DIRECT from the USA, The Sounds of the Supremes, led by 70s and 80s Supreme Kaaren Ragland, are coming to town.

The Supremes were musical trailblaze­rs, leading the Motown Records musical revolution of the 60s, and making pop history as the first of many groups to enjoy crossover success.

Since 1989, The Sounds Of the Supremes have achieved their own worldwide success.

London’s What’s On magazine described their concert show as ‘a non-stop bravura performanc­e of immense vitality recreating perfectly the frenetic style and sound of the original line-up’.

The trio possess a wealth of experience in recording, television, cabaret, theatre and musicals.

Kaaren performed at the London Palladium in the 70s and before Princess Margaret in the 80s.

They deliver a fantastic vocal blend accompanie­d by stylish choreograp­hy and glamour.

The sound of The Supremes’ music lives on with The Sounds Of The Supremes performing chart-toppers Baby Love, You Keep Me Hanging On, Stop In The Name Of Love, Where Did Our Love Go, Love Child, You Can’t Hurry Love, Back In My Arms Again, Reflection­s, Nathan Jones, Automatica­lly Sunshine, Up The Ladder To The Roof, Floy Joy, Love Is Like An Itching In My Heart, Someday We’ll Be Together and Nothing But Heartaches.

As a member of The Supremes from the late 70s and throughout the 80, Kaaren performed at the London Palladium for Her Royal Highness Princess Margaret, at Europe’s Pori Jazz Festival, The Bottom Line in Japan and on the Legends of Rock Australian stadium tour. Originally from Richmond, Virginia, Kaaren studied acting at the School Of Fine Arts, Boston University.

Stage credits include the Broadway musical Eubie with Cab Calloway, and the New York-based National Shakespear­e Company as their featured ingenue. Also, Bain in Girlead and the renowned musical l The h Little l Shop h Of f Horrors in Los Angeles. Founding The Sounds Of The Supremes in the late 80s, with whom she’s appeared in more than 70 countries, Kaaren continues to lead this definitive trio whose recordings include: DetriotLA, Live In Germany and a notable appearance on the 1995 Mercury/Verve / release l by b jazz legend Herbie Hancock, Dis Is Da Drum.

The Sounds Of The Supremes will be at The Brindley Theatre, Runcorn, on Monday, November 18, 7.30pm.
