Arrests after chase
POLICE made three arrests after a car failed to stop in Runcorn and the occupants ran off.
Officers tried to pull over the vehicle on Friday afternoon.
A Cheshire Constabulary spokeswoman said the vehicle continued on its way and stopped ‘after a short distance’ on Masseyfield Road in Brookvale, where two or more suspects were reported to have run off.
A police search ensued involving a helicopter, dogs team, armed response and patrols vehicles.
Three men, aged 27 and two aged 28, were arrested on suspicion of possessing Class B cannabis with intent to supply.
One of the 18-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving, driving without a licence, driving without insurance and failing to stop.
All three have been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
When the Weekly News attended the scene, a police officer wearing blue gloves was searching the pockets of a young man in a black hooded jacket and black trousers.

One resident said they had seen two arrests and one suspect had been put in a police van and the other in a patrol car.
In a statement issued at the time, a Cheshire police spokeswoman said: “At 12.40pm today (Friday, November 15) a car failed to stop for police in Northwich Road, Runcorn.
“Police followed the car which then stopped and the two occupants fled the scene.
“Police arrested two men aged 18 and a man aged 27, in the Masseyfield Road area of Brookvale.”
